Two members of the Middlebury College women's soccer team were honored when the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) announced its All-Region teams. Senior midfielder Hannah Robinson (Davidson, N.C.) earned her second-consecutive all-region accolade with a first-team nod, while junior defender Amanda Haik (High Bridge, N.J.) was selected to the third team. The duo helped lead the Panthers to a 7-5-5 mark with a trip to the NESCAC semifinals.
Robinson records her second-straight all-region honor, moving up from the fourth team a season ago. Last month, the midfielder became the fourth player in Middlebury history to be named the NESCAC's Player of the Year. She served as a team captain for the second-straight fall. Robinson scored in the Panthers' season-opening victory over Colby-Sawyer on September 9, as well as the lone goal in a 2-1 setback on September 22 at Plattsburgh State. The senior midfielder also earned four assists this season and ranked fourth on the team with eight points. Robinson played in all 73 matches the last four years for Middlebury with 60 starts, scoring 10 career goals along with 13 assists for 33 points.
Haik tallies her first regional award after being a key part of a Middlebury defense that allowed just 1.04 goals per match in 2015. The junior back earns her first postseason all-region nod weeks after picking up a first-team conference accolade. She started all 17 matches in the back as well as each of the 16 matches she played in a year ago. Haik served as one of the team's captains this fall, and also came forward and scored her first career goal during an October 5 draw with Keene State.
